What is ONLOCK?
In partnership with Northside Hip Hop, ONLOCK is on a mission to empower artists and creatives by equipping them with simplified access to education, knowledge and means of protecting their creative assets.
Powered by blockchain, ONLOCK is an image encryption platform for visual artists to protect and archive their original works. ONLOCK is a digital IP platform and blockchain project designed to support art organizations and artists in Canada. Artists and festivals can automate Creative Commons licensing agreements recognized globally.
Protecting creator rights and IP
In the face of AI, by providing artists and organizations access to an attribution ledger and automated smart contracts, ONLOCK stresses a form of digital justice meant to alleviate artists of the stifling corporate and institutional exploitation via copyright infringement.
The project provides an open source centralized digital platform that can pool and share resources, provide educational support and provide artists and organizations with a way to manage one’s digital rights and artistic career.

In Development
ONLOCK disseminates digital rights information at workshops and seminars at institutions and hip hop festivals. Leading through knowledge share programming while building a community strategy as a feedback loop into user research, early adopters and advocates.
Learnings are fed back into the ONLOCK digital platform to enhance the platform. Simultaneously, ONLOCK is being built to begin testing how various visual materials can be correctly identified, labeled, licensed and shared in an artist-centric way.
